It’s been 4 years once I entered the Walk-In suspecting I would be diagnosed with Pneumonia. Instead I was transported to Middlesex Hospital where I received my diagnosis o 4th stage lung cancer. I was then transported to Hartford Hospital where I spent the next eight days struggling to stay alive as I further learned the cancer was metastatic and I was not expected to live much longer. I underwent treatment every three weeks and scans every three months and prayed to God to walk with me and Help me through to the end as I began the biggest fight of my life. As any of you who have followed me will know it has not been an easy path as I weigh and measure what is harder to get through? The cancer itself or the side effects of the treatment and the breakdown over time of my body from the cancer. I can say that after these past four years struggling to remain alive, I can continue to thank God who has helped and guided me every step of the way. My family and I continue to make more memories. Two beautiful granddaughters have been added to give Peter and I a total of 11 grandchildren. 5 boys and 6 girls. I can’t imagine being more blessed. My family remains strong and we continue to celebrate each year I have survived. I just had another scan on Monday. I did not hear back from my doctor who assured me he would call me if there are any changes in the scan. Safe again for another 3 months. Thank you God once again. I always set new goals to strive to achieve. My new ones for now as none of my children are expecting any babies this year will be to come together in December in the Coventry B&B we rent yearly and celebrate together the end of another year and to make memories to bring into the New Year. In addition to attend our 50th School reunion and to celebrate our 45th Wedding Anniversary. One thing I can say for sure is I continue to live my best life and remain so thankful to God for his guidance and my family he gave me to love.
