Today is the last day of summer for 2026. This summer flew by too quickly. It was a good summer. We went to Gettysburg for vacation; the whole family except for Chris and Gui and their kids. Turns out it was the hottest week of the year but we did not let that stop us; we saw as many of the sites and Gettysburg and had great dinners with the family and made memories that will not soon be forgotten. It was kind of a difficult summer for me healthwise as I had many UTIs this year. It started with issues with my bladder and a procedure that was necessary to be performed. The problem is after the procedure was formed in the bladder it did not resolve the problem that I was having which was a lot of blood in my urine so we tracked it to the kidney stones, of which I have so many in each kidney. Again another procedure was necessary this time for the left kidney to blast and remove and add a stent to allow all kidney stones to be removed from the left kidney. Which the procedure went very well I felt good for probably a good week and a half after the procedure and then I fell ill with a temperature and lots of pain and blood in my urine. I ended up in the hospital with a UTI and what they thought was pneumonia but then they retracted that and said no it’s not pneumonia. I stayed in the hospital for a couple of days until the fever broke and was treated with many antibiotics for the UTI. I then was scheduled to to get the right kidney done with the same procedure as the left kidney however I ended up sick again with a temperature and had to cancel the procedure for a few weeks. I was again treated with antibiotics and 4 Weeks later underwent the procedure for the right kidney. Well in recovery I was having difficulties with my blood oxygen levels and was admitted directly into the hospital from the recovery room. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days again treated for UTI and pneumonia. This time they insisted yes it was pneumonia And how doses of antibiotics of various kinds were were given to me to try to relieve the symptoms of a UTI and don’t pneumonia. As it turns out I was unable to leave the hospital without oxygen joining me at home. It has been difficult as you have this big long tube that stays with you as you walk through the house but at least I can reach end-to-end in my house making it easier to get things done. I am hoping not to stay on oxygen too long and that it is as they told me a result of the symptoms of the pneumonia and not the cancer. With any luck when I go to the doctors this next week he will tell me that I can come off at in the near future. It really limits my ability to be out in public for now and I don’t want to invest in the small portable ones if I don’t need it right now. Fingers crossed the doctor rules out oxygen soon and I can come off. Other than that it’s been a good summer. My family is always so accommodating to my variety of needs and my husband Pete stays by my side and takes great care of me along with Lindsey our daughter we call Angel. Onto the fall with pumpkins and pumpkin spice and of course going out for Halloween with Lindsay’s kids one of our favorite times of year so fun. Until next time hoping to be kidney stone free and no more UTIs.
Fingers and toes crossed you can come off oxygen! And I’m so grateful things are moving upwards in that area and pray they continue to do so. I look forward to all things fall with you. 💖🎃
As I do with you our Angel girl.
