With Each Day…

With each day I count my blessings. I am so thankful for the miracle of being in the 20th percentile metastasized lung cancer patients. I continuing to hang on for dear  life and make as many memories with my family that I can. In this post I can tell you that the decision to downsize and move to our smaller house was a very wise choice. Not only did this move benefit peter and I but it was a great opportunity for my son and daughter-in-law starting their new family who moved into our larger house. Physically it is so much easier in the smaller house as everything we need is on one floor and easy to get to. There are so many things I am able to do here on my own that I could not do or had difficulties doing in the larger house. It is good to gain some independence back that I thought I had lost forever.  The move was difficult especially since my son and I basically swapped houses in the same day but fortunately  my daughter’s did alot of the packing and helped us to downsize which was not an easy task. Every morning I wake up and I look out almost every window we have to see the beauty that surrounds our house. I watch everyone living their busy lives as days and nights come and go in the blink of an eye. I just want to advise everyone to slow down and realize what you really have in life and sort what you really need versus what you think you need. In the end it is your relationships in life that count. I strongly recommend paying attention to some of the beautiful sun rises and sunsets that we tend to overlook in our busy lives. Great news today as the results of my scan I had this morning came in showing no growth or changes in my lung mass. Such fantastic news and praise the Lord. These scans are performed every three months to assess the size of the mass and see if any spreading of the cancer takes place. Onward to the next three months and prayers for all who are battling cancer and intend to win the battle like me.

  1. Such an encouraging post this morning, from downsizing (which I want to do , my hubby has trouble with) to your scans.
Stairs are so hard for my hubby now too, we always say, what a mistake building a raised ranch and not thinking of future.
May you continue to be blessed. I am happy for you it sounds like a beautiful home !

    1. It was the best decision. Having everything on one floor is Heaven as well as gaining more independence. Down sizing was hard but psychologically we are so relieved and more organized for doing it. It turned. Out to be a win win. So much less maintenance.stress level is way down

I’m so happy to see you gain your independence back. You fought so hard and continue to do so. And yes, slowing down to appreciate every minute is a piece of advice we all need to consider. ❤️❤️
