Next step Radiation

Well here I go down the next path of teatment. Biopsy is done, imaging done and appointments with radiologists are done. Determination…. radiation for ten days…2 week beginning today. Good news it will be finished before the next treatment of Kaytruda and before Thanksgiving. I woke up this morning and was drinking my coffee when the phone rang and it was radiology asking me if I intended on attending my first session at 9:15 this morning. As the sessions are planned for 10 days = 2 weeks of Monday thru Friday so I accepted and had my first treatment this morning. This treatment should shrink or get rid of the three growing cancerous tumors under my left arm. There is a fourth in my chest and one more under my right arm which will not be treated at this time. They remain small for now so decisions for these will be made in the future. I remain optimistic and continue to take one day at a time. I have begun year 4 with this terrible disease, 2 1/2 years longer than life expectancy of 3 to 6 months originally given to me. I look forward to the holidays to come and our family vacation planned over New Years weekend with the whole family. All’s I was able to get the steroid shot in my back and can walk again with ease. We are working on appropriate dosages nail the correct ones are found. I will continue with my updates God willing. Happy Fall everyone.
